What is HKIMO?

Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad (HKIMO) exam is conducted for students in grades KG-12. Students from around the globe can only participate in the exam.

HKIMO exam is conducted in 2 levels i.e HKIMO Heat Round and HKIMO Final for grades KG-12. The exam is conducted in online mode only.

The examination is held with the aim to develop a platform for all Math lovers around the world to come together for an educational and cultural exchange. HKIMO seeks to foster students’ interest in Mathematical Olympiad and to promote Mathematical Olympiad all over the world.

HKIMO paper consists of 5 main topics: Logical Thinking, Arithmetic (Kindergarten / Primary Section) / Algebra(Secondary Section), Number Theory, Geometry & Combinatorics.

How to participate in HKIMO?

Step 1:

Students who are participating in the examinations have to make the payment via https://www.billplz.com/hkimoheat
After the payment candidates will receive an Instant Receipt via Email with the FPX Reference No. (eg. FPX – 1234F1CDB23E).
You may pay for more than 1 child/ student at once by increasing the quantity. Just put in the same FPX Reference No. during registration.

HKIMO Syllabus (All Groups)

Exam Pattern

The exam is divided into two levels. The first level is the HKIMO Heat Round which consists of 25 questions with a total score of 100 marks.

The second round, which is the HKIMO Final round, consists of 30 questions with a total score of 150 marks.

The time allowed for the Heat round is 90 minutes while the time allowed for the Final round is 120 minutes.

The exam is conducted in English and simplified Chinese.

Exam Fee

INR 1500 per participant (student). Discounts are available on multiple competitions or multiple entries.

Fees include: Access to some past papers and answer keys as downloadable soft copies.

Online exam login credentials, schedule and exam instructions will be provided by email after registrations close one week before the exam.
