The Singapore and Asian Schools Math Olympiad (SASMO) is one of the largest international maths competitions in Asia, designed for students from Grades 2 to 10. SASMO aims to nurture young mathematical talents by encouraging analytical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning skills.
Participating in SASMO helps students improve their school mathematics performance, develops their Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), and provides valuable early exposure to international-level competitions. SASMO 2025 expects participation from over 35,000 students representing more than 25 countries worldwide.
How to Participate in SASMO?
Students can join SASMO either individually or through their schools.
Participation through Schools:
Schools registered with SASMO receive the official invitation.
Students can register through their schools by submitting fees directly (cash or EduSave).
Schools submit the student registrations online via the official portal or email: [email protected].
Schools can opt for online or paper-based exams, subject to SASMO guidelines.
Individual Participation:
Students registering individually must participate online.
A desktop or laptop with a functional webcam is mandatory.
Each student begins with a baseline of 15 points. The maximum achievable score is 85.
