The Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO) is one of the most respected international math competitions for school students. It began in Singapore and now welcomes participants from across the globe. Students from Classes 1 to 12 can take part in the SEAMO Olympiad.
Each year, over 20,000 students from more than 22 countries appear for this exam. SEAMO is designed for both primary and secondary school students. The exam is held online and is conducted in two levels SEAMO and SEAMO X.
The goal of SEAMO is to identify and encourage young mathematical talent worldwide. Since the exam has no elimination process, every student gets the chance to participate and gain experience in competitive mathematics without the pressure of rejection. This opens doors to greater learning and future academic opportunities.
Registration for SASMO is to be done online by downloading the registration form from the SEAMO official website. Students have to use their email id to register for the exam. Fee can be paid using cash, draft claims, or payment order.
The SEAMO syllabus is designed to test students logical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities beyond the regular school curriculum. It is based on international math standards and includes topics like Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory, and Combinatorics. The questions vary in difficulty depending on the students grade level, making the exam suitable for both primary and secondary students from Grades 1 to 12.
